About Us

Ava has been creating garments since she was 14. Her grandmother Carol had her own clothing line in Chicago during the 1950s, and her grandfather Fred ran a fabric store next door. Everyone in their family was taught how to sew, with Ava's mother sharing the knowledge with her daughter. You could say that sewing is something of an inherited trade for them - Ava worked as an alteration specialist at David's Bridal Milwaukee for eight years before relocating to Nevada and setting up her own business. She has acquired a fashion certificate from Parsons of New York and attended classes at University of Fashion, focusing on pattern making and couture dress making.

In our facility, you will also come across Ava's mother Judaline. She brings all the skills she learned from her parents about the practice of patterning, alterations and fabrics. Next to Judaline is Ava's daughter Alexandra. Alex picked up the art of stitching when she was still in high school, assisting Ava in producing dresses for school dances. Alexandra specializes in fittings and customer service.

Lastly, we have our dear friend Maribel who earned her fashion degree from the university in Puerto Rico and moved to the United States to pursue fashion. She works closely with with Deaf community and has been instrumental in teaching the whole team American Sign Language.

This is a family-run enterprise, as Ava's younger children are now a staple in the shop, helping our guests on Saturday mornings.
